Ah Craps, what a lovely game. Walk into any Las Vegas casino and listen. The Craps area will be the loudest-unless the game has taken a turn for the worst.
A great Craps game will be full of shouting, high fives, and unbridled enthusiasm. But, it’s not all roses. There are some action spots on the Craps layout that are sucker bets. Sure, they can be fun to play now and then, but make a habit of it and you’ll lose a serious chunk of your bankroll over time.
Today, I’ll quickly dish out three Craps bets that you want to either stay away from completely or play in rare instances.
Big 6 and Big 8
These two wagers are to be avoided at all costs 100% of the time. Never, and I mean never, play these bets.
The Big 6 and Big 8 only pay even money-read that again. So, if you put $6 on the Big 6 and/or Big 8 and win, you’re paid $6. I call this the lazy man’s bet. Had you simply placed the 6 or 8 instead, you’d be paid $7 for a $6 bet.
By betting the Big 6 or Big 8, you’re losing 16.6% of your money each time you win! That’s a sucker’s bet for sure.
Boxcars
In the center of the Craps layout, there’s the 12 bet-aka boxcars, midnight, etc-and it pays 30 for 1. Sounds great right?
Here’s the problem. First, it’s a one-roll bet. You either win or lose on the next roll. Second, it pays 30 for 1, but there’s only one way in 36 combinations to roll a 12. You’re losing 16% on your action before anything happens.
In other words, if you made the wager 36 times-assuming perfect math play-you’d have $31 in your pocket. You would have lost $5. That’s each and every cycle.
I never make this bet, but it’s okay once in a blue moon if you just want to spice things up. Just realize that there’s a serious house advantage with this wager.
Aces
Just like with the 12, you can also make a one-roll wager on the Aces (2). It pays 30 for one as well and it’s the same deal-a bad wager.

Do you believe in superstitions? They exist in many spheres in the society in divergent forms. It is true that most of such superstitions never have any scientific base nor their existence could be justified with logic. Yet they do exist and millions of people are under their influence. And the peculiarity of the situation is that more than anyone else the celebrities in various fields are vulnerable to it. Players are often found to be under the influence of superstitions. And such superstitions are more in case of those games where the outcome is mostly uncertain.
And is there any game that could be more uncertain than the casino online games? When two gamblers were conversing, one of them asked the other about superstition. The reply was typical. The second gambler said “I was superstitious in the past. But when I learnt that this could be unlucky, I relinquished the habit.” Amusing enough, one superstition gives away to another.
This means gamblers are perhaps the most superstitious among all people in the world. They can go to any extent to improve their chances of winning. Such superstitions are displayed in multiple forms. Sometimes it could be lucky charms and at other times it could be performing some ritual before, during, or after the session. A variety of things influences their hope that the lady luck will at last smile on them. Such tendencies are more prominent among the regular losers than the regular winners though the later group is also not immune from such feelings. In fact relationship between superstitions and gambling has been a very popular subject of study for the psychologists all over the world.
Research by many psychologists indicates that superstitions can develop among the gamblers and could well become the basis of the future gambling sessions. Sometimes after winning a particular critical hand the gambler or casino player may take a particular trick or sign as lucky and winning sign. He or she may decide that the dress the worn at the time of such game is lucky for them. This means that they make something else, some objective that was present, the symbol for their good luck and its carrier. There is another side of looking towards the superstition syndrome. Sometimes after repeated losses, a casino player may consider something they had or some signs as distinctly unlucky for them.
Once again, there is no scientific explanation or basis for such theories. But the irony is that at times either due to coincidence or some other reasons such things happen. Means, you are wearing a red dress and you win a couple games back to back and when you wear a blue dress the reverse happens, you lose a couple of games back to back. Naturally a belief may come to your mind that the red dress is lucky for you and irrespective of subsequent results you may be motivated to repeat the dress while playing casino online games.
Conviction is a big motivation after all.
